There isn’t a lot out there about Austranna’s Indigo THC 21%, but according to the website honahlee, it’s the cultivar Wappa. With no COA it’s hard to know exactly what terpenes are fully in play with this particular strain.**
Regardless, Austranna’s Indigo displays typical Wappa characteristics; a sickly sweet aroma bordering on skunkiness, tightly packed buds that have a slightly yellowish tint, and a progressive feeling of relaxation while still being mentally stimulating.
A 60/40 Indica dominant hybrid, Wappa is a cross between Sweet Skunk and Afghani Skunk. It was initially bred by Paradise Seeds in Amsterdam during the late 1990s. It’s an easy-to-grow plant that produces reliable big yields and usually has a terpene profile high in Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Linalool.
Having won the Euro Copa de Canarias in 2011 and Canada’s Cannabis Champs Cup in 2014 it’s easy to see why this cultivar would be grown by multiple companies in the Australian medicinal market. Wappa is commonly used for pain relief, anxiety, insomnia, and migraines.
Review
When my 10g jar of Austranna’s Indigo showed up late last week she was tightly packed with medium to small buds, all nicely trimmed, that presented with the yellowish hue normally associated with Wappa. Pulling back the freshness seal, there was an old-school spicy skunky aroma with hints of pine and citrus.
Indigo passes the Sticky Icky Test and is smooth in the Mighty+ from 175C all the way to 210C with an almost lemon/lime aftertaste around 190C.
Indigo is a creeper. As the Myrcene slowly kicks in it enhances the full body relaxation feeling that Wappa is so critically acclaimed for, melting away any muscle tension, stress or anxiety I may have had before my medicating session. (Shameless plug… if you’d like more information on the awesomeness of Myrcene check out my article from last week!)
This isn’t a strain I would typically start my day with. I find one dosing cap (0.15 of a gram) in the late afternoon is the perfect way to ease into just about any evening festivity. About an hour before bedtime if I double my dosing caps (0.30 of a gram) Indigo gives me that happy sedating push I need to fall asleep easily.
Austranna’s version of Wappa is a cultivar that even the most seasoned medicinal cannabis patient can enjoy. At $150 for a 10g jar, Indigo is most definitely a strain I will purchase again and is one of my personal favourites.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 out of 5 Stars)
**Normally I cross-check my facts in at least three places before going to print, but it just wasn’t possible for this review as the only website to list Indigo’s cultivar was honahlee and as stated in the article there was no certificate of authenticity.
