MedCan’s Frozen Lemons entered the Australian Medicinal Cannabis market in March of this year. A Sativa dominant hybrid with 22% THC and <1% CBD, Frozen Lemons is a cross between Freezerburn and Lemon Fire F3.
Frozen Lemons’ breeder is none other than Capulator. Yes, that’s right, the same breeder that brought us Mac1 (shameless plug for my article about Mac1/Moorok 21) is behind the genetics for Frozen Lemons and according to SeedFinder Mac1 is “possibly” a parent of Freezerburn.
Frozen Lemons has never been available as feminized seeds and was only made purchasable as a special release at the 2019 Emerald Cup.
This cultivar is recommended for people suffering from migraines, anxiety, stress, depression, fatigue and appetite loss or nausea.
Review
I specifically requested this cultivar for two reasons…
1. Because I enjoyed SatiVite’s Moorok 21 which is Mac1 and as stated above it’s “possibly” a parent to Freezerburn.
2. I’m a sucker for cultivars containing Limonene, Linalool, Myrcene and Terpinolene. (Although Frozen Lemons contains these terpenes the top 3 dominant terpenes for this cultivar are 3-Carene, Alpha Bisabolol, and Pinene.)
When I opened my jar of MedCan’s Frozen Lemons FZL01 batch MCA-LOG-FZL01-B1 I wanted to be blown away by a lemony scent… I wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong it was there along with fresh pine and some woody hints but I wanted more!
The buds were spongy, and light green with minimal red hairs. They were small to medium in size, fluffy yet dense, evenly covered in trichomes, and easily passed the Sticky Icky Test.
As you can see in the pictures I’m slightly more than 0.5 of a gram short of 10 grams. I usually allow for 0.15 of a gram of variance in weight or the equivalent of one dosing cap. In this case, I’m slightly more than three and a half dosing caps short. (For reference, I go through about five to eight caps a day.) That doesn’t seem like much but if you’re on a tight budget, you’ve lost three and a half medicating sessions.
But here’s where it gets interesting, the buds break up beautifully. So much so that when I weighed out my three grams to fill 20 dosing caps at 0.15 of a gram I was left with anywhere between 0.3 of a gram to 0.5 of a gram each time because I physically could not squish any more flower into the caps.
After three weeks I had 1.1 grams, the equivalent of 7.3 dosing caps, which in theory I should have already vaped but hadn’t. So as much as I want to complain about being short, I’m going to let it slide because, for the most part, MedCan’s products are usually pretty bang on or slightly over in weight.
A smooth, citrusy and somewhat woody vape from 175C to 210C the effects of Frozen Lemons come on quickly, no creeper here.
It’s a very happy high on the front end. This cultivar makes me feel euphoric, energized and focused.
I found myself turning on good tunes, losing track of time, and digging in around the house to get shit done that I’d put off for months. A few hits off the Mighty+ before yoga and I was able to tap into a flow state of focus that had me achieving a position I hadn’t been able to do since my 20s. (It was a headstand and yes I had been working on it for months but I just hadn’t mustered the confidence to do it away from the wall.)
The only negative for me with this cultivar is that on the back end, it can be very munchie-inducing.
At $136 for a 10-gram jar, which was slightly more than 0.5 gram short and didn’t blow me away with its lemon scent, I was initially going to give MedCan’s Frozen Lemons four stars. But this is why I never write a review when I first get a product, and why I like to sit with things for a while before I form an opinion.
So here I am three weeks later slowly finishing up the last of my jar… And confidently adding Medcan’s Frozen Lemons to my Favourites List.

Would give you way more credibility if you actually had the cajones to rate it 4 stars
