Mother Labs’s Beta 808 is a 29% THC Sativa hybrid medicinal cannabis flower bred by Mother Labs by crossing Slurricane and Chatterbox. Cultivated in coco under artificial light in Saskatoon, Canada, this flower is hand-harvested and trimmed. With a total terpene content of 2.89%, Beta 808’s most dominant terpens are Limonene, Caryophyllene, Linalool, Pinene, and Farnesene. According to the information provided on Catalyst, Mother Labs’s Beta 808 was harvested on 3 November 2024 and entered the Australian market on 15 January 2025.
I first covered Slurricane back in January of 2024 when I did my review of Green Shepherd’s Slurricane. For a quick refresher… Typically high in Myrcene, Pinene, and Limonene, Slurricane is an Indica-leaning hybrid cross between Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch and would be recommended to patients suffering from migraines or headaches, chronic pain, cramps or muscle spasms and chronic fatigue.
Mother Labs boasts over 150 active production cultivars and an extensive in vitro collection of 1,000 cultivars, with Chatterbox being just one of their many in-house genetics. According to Mother Lab’s website, Chatterbox has a "Lazy Social" vibe, chatty but relaxed. Chatterbox has a higher THC content of around 29-34%. Because of this, it would be recommended to experienced patients with conditions including chronic stress or anxiety, PTSD, chronic fatigue, depression and chronic pain.
Review
Opening my amber glass jar of Mother Labs’s Beta 808 (batch B315), I’m greeted by the powerful aromas of mint and citrus mixed with an earthy dankness.
Right out of the jar, Beta 808 impresses with two massive, well-formed buds accompanied by four smaller ones with no shake in sight.
Beta 808’s buds are predominantly green with hints of purple on the leaves. They have a dense yet spongy structure, coated in a fine layer of milky trichomes and accented by terracotta-colored pistils.
Beta 808 easily passes my Sticky Icky Test, leaving a slight tackiness on my fingers when squeezed and holding together nicely, displaying kinetic sand-like characteristics when coming out of the grinder.
Starting at 175C in my Venty, Mother Labs’s Beta 808 delivers bright citrus notes with a zesty, almost candied lemon profile, complemented by a refreshing menthol twist. As the vapor lingers, more subtle herbal and earthy undertones emerge. The exhale is smooth, with a cooling sensation that enhances the menthol finish, leaving a crisp, clean aftertaste. Beta 808’s effects kick in quickly, starting with a euphoric boost, promoting talkativeness and a lighthearted, giggly mood. As the high settled, there was a nice balance between mental clarity and mild relaxation, keeping me functionally focused without feeling sluggish. Mother Labs’s Beta 808 would be best suited for afternoons.
Will I refill this prescription? Yes, sparlingly. Mother Labs’s Beta 808 has a euphoric lift at the start that helped me feel more energized and engaged on days when I was struggling with fatigue and low motivation. Its talkative, giggly nature also put me at ease in social settings and helped reduce my anxiety. At $165, Mother Labs’s Beta 808 is a welcomed addition to my medicinal cannabis rotation. However, I do wish it had slightly less THC. If it were a bit milder, Beta 808 is the kind of flower I’d reach for more often, something I could ease into my mornings with rather than saving for those afternoons when I need an extra kick.

Another riveting read, Christina; thanks for sharing your work.
I spotted this and popped it in a catalyst list, but I don't see myself getting a script due to the high THC %. Like you, I'd prefer not to uckfey my day by starting off with a 29 percenter.
