Pax has long been a leading name in portable dry herb vaporizers. The Pax Plus, the latest iteration from Pax Labs, aims to build on this legacy by offering improved features and functionality.
Design and Build Quality
The Pax Plus is sleek, minimalist, compact, and discreet. It easily fits into the palm of your hand or slips into a pocket or bag, making it an ideal companion for on-the-go sessions.
The Pax Plus has an aluminium shell that feels durable without being too heavy. The device has a simple, one-button operation, which keeps things straightforward. The LED indicator light, a signature feature of Pax devices, is still present giving you information about the temperature settings, battery life, and heating status with just a glance.
Pros:
Sleek, compact design that’s easy to carry.
Durable build with a premium finish.
Simple one-button operation.
Discreet LED indicators for status updates.
Cons:
The mouthpiece can get quite warm after extended use.
While compact, the design may not be ergonomic for all users.
Performance and Vapor Quality
The Pax Plus heats in under 30 seconds, a noticeable improvement over earlier models. The vapour it produces is smooth and consistent even at higher temperatures. There are four preset temperature settings to choose from allowing you to customize your session based on your preference. There’s also a “Stealth Mode” feature which dims the LED lights and reduces vapour production for a more discreet experience.
The Pax Plus uses conduction heating and is compatible with both dry herb and concentrates.
Pros:
Quick heat-up time (under 30 seconds).
Consistent and smooth vapour quality.
Four preset temperature settings for easy customization.
Compatible with both dry herb and concentrates.
Stealth Mode for discreet sessions.
Cons:
The device can get warm during longer sessions, impacting comfort.
Battery Life and Charging
The Pax Plus boasts a reliable battery life, capable of delivering about 2.5 hours of continuous use on a single charge. This makes it suitable for a full day’s worth of casual sessions, but heavy users may find themselves needing to recharge more frequently. The device charges via USB-C and takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge from empty.
However, the battery is not user-replaceable. Additionally, while the USB-C charging is convenient, the lack of pass-through charging means you can’t use the device while it’s plugged in.
Pros:
Decent battery life (about 2.5 hours of continuous use).
Fast USB-C charging (full charge in around 2 hours).
Compact and portable for all-day use.
Cons:
No user-replaceable battery.
Lack of pass-through charging.
Ease of Use and Maintenance
One of the reasons Pax devices are so popular is their ease of use, and the Pax Plus is no exception. The one-button operation simplifies things significantly. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned user, you’ll find it easy to load, set the temperature, and start vaping. The device’s intelligent design also includes features like motion sensors, which can tell when you’re not actively using it and adjust power usage accordingly to conserve battery life.
Maintenance is straightforward but requires regular cleaning to ensure the device continues to perform optimally. The Pax Plus comes with a cleaning kit, which is a nice touch.
Pros:
Simple, user-friendly operation.
Intelligent features like motion sensors help conserve battery life.
Easy to load.
Includes a cleaning kit for maintenance.
Cons:
Requires regular cleaning to maintain performance.
The chamber can be tricky to clean thoroughly.
Final Thoughts
The Pax Plus has plenty going for it. It’s compact, easy to use, and produces impressive vapour clouds for its size. However, it’s not without its drawbacks such as the limited temperature control, the device getting too hot in my hand during longer sessions, and the lack of pass-through charging. The biggest downside of the Pax Plus is that it produces muted flavours when compared to my Venty or Mighty+.
While I’m glad I snagged my Pax Plus before the vaporizer ban from Australian Vaporizers for $284.95, its role in my rotation is clear… It’s a handy option for portability but can’t replace the performance and flavour of my go-to devices.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5 stars)***
***Full disclosure: While the Pax Plus is designed to handle both flowers and concentrates, my experience with the device has been exclusively with flower.***

Between this and the Lookah Ice Cream ( https://www.420buy.com/products/lookah-ice-cream ), for dry herb consumption, which would you recommend? I don’t really understand the difference between them.
Please let me know what you think! I’m a bit confused about all this and would like some help with making my purchase
That was very handy, thank you. I wondered what those guys were like. It’s a cool looking unit. My favourite little portable is the Healthy Rips Rogue SE. I get better hits from the Crafty but it’s such a pain, takes forever to heat up, no digital display and needs recharging daily. The only thing you never mentioned was dosing caps. The Rogue has dosing caps, which is a great option for a busy day. At work😉
