Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple is a 25% THC Sativa-leaning medicinal cannabis flower created from the Temple Flo and Sour Pink Lemonade lineage. Part of the Canadian Craft Cannabis Company, Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple is grown in no-till beds of living organic soil on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Hand-harvested and hand-trimmed Citrus Temple is slow cold cured for four to six weeks with the company’s goal of having the product available within 28 days from the end of the curing process. Citrus Temple boasts a 4.30% terpene profile with Terpinolene, Ocimene, Myrcene, and Limonene being the most dominant.
Temple Flo created by DJ Short is a cross of Purple Thai and Afghani. With buds that are described as large, dense, and pear-shaped, with bright neon green hues contrasted by deep purple undertones, Temple Flo’s aroma is a vibrant mix of citrus, spicy wine, and sour lemon, while the flavour combines fruity and spicy notes with hints of anise and a tangy, sour finish. With a terpene profile rich in Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Linalool, Temple Flo is known for its balanced, uplifting effects, making it a popular choice for managing chronic fatigue, stress, mild depression, and nausea.
Sour Pink Lemonade comes from Relentless Genetics and is a slightly Sativa-leaning hybrid created by crossing Sour Dubb and Purple Bomb. True to its name, Sour Pink Lemonade offers a sweet and tangy citrus flavour reminiscent of lemonade, with notes of fresh oranges and a hint of peppery dank. Typically high in Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and Limonene Sour Pink Lemonade is said to deliver a cerebral, euphoric high that uplifts the mind while gently relaxing the body, often leading to a couch-locked state before drifting into sleep and would be recommended for patients trying to manage symptoms of chronic fatigue, depression, stress, PTSD, and headaches.
Review
When my amber glass jar of Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple arrived, it was nestled in a large black cardboard box. Upon opening my jar (batch B080) I was greeted by two of my favourite terpene aromas… Terpinolene and Ocimene. Citrus Temple smells lemony, minty and slightly gassy all at the same time.
Citrus Temple’s buds have a consistent, uniform spade shape, showcasing a light green hue interspersed with darker green leaves. The buds were adorned with long, wispy, rust-coloured pistils and a generous coating of trichomes.
Featuring dense yet spongy buds Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple maintains a consistent texture when ground. The grind is smooth and even, making it easy to pack into my dosing caps. There was no humidity pack in my jar.
However, Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple does not pass my Sticky Icky Test. In the video, you can see that while Citrus Temple’s buds have a tacky texture, they aren't truly sticky. Instead of gradually releasing, the buds drop off my fingers quickly, indicating the absence of trichome heads.
While Spirit Bear’s packaging looked premium… In truth, it didn’t offer any extra protection for the buds, which translated into it feeling more like a marketing tactic than a necessity. If I had one complaint about the cannabis industry as a whole it would be the fact that it’s unbelievably wasteful.
Starting at 175C in my Venty, Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple’s flavour is a vibrant burst of zesty citrus, with sharp notes of lemon and grapefruit that blend into a subtle minty sweetness. On the exhale, hints of earthiness and a touch of gassy spice come through, adding depth to the overall taste. Citrus Temple’s swift effects are uplifting and energizing, providing a clear-headed mental boost that enhances focus and creativity. As the high settles, a gentle calm spreads throughout my body that eases my overthinking mind without causing sedation. This balance makes Citrus Temple ideal for daytime use, whether tackling solo tasks or enjoying more social activities.
Will I refill this prescription? No. A year and a half ago, I would’ve been screaming, “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!” The amber glass jar, the dark green label, and the heart-shaped bear logo—what's not to love? Back then, it was rare to find flowers high in Terpinolene, and sleek packaging in glass jars was even rarer. But times have changed, and so have my expectations. At $175 for 10 grams, I expect the flower to pass my Sticky Icky Test and to find at least one large bud weighing three grams or more in my jar. Unfortunately, Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple falls short on both counts, leaving me disappointed. While I was willing to pay $170 for Promethean BioPharma’s Super Silver Haze back in July 2023 (which has since dropped to $130), I can’t justify doing the same for Citrus Temple in October 2024.
Spirit Bear’s Citrus Temple is a four-star flower but her price knocks her back to a three.
