Review
I ordered my Venty from Storz and Bickel on October 23rd and paid $630 (including shipping). However, it didn’t arrive until November 28th and while there was some communication from Storz and Bickel about the delay, it was pretty vague. (There’s currently a two-week processing and delivery wait time.)
Perhaps the cryptic communication stemmed from the fact there was the recall of the first batch which was blamed on a hardware issue that affected the device’s energy management. This issue has since been rectified.
My two biggest complaints about the Mighty+ were size and battery life. Did the Venty address these issues?
I wouldn’t say it was smaller, although it does feel more comfortable in my hand than the Mighty+.
Venty Dimensions and Weight:
Width: 5.5 cm | 2.17"
Height: 15.7 cm | 6.18"
Depth: 3.7cm | 1.46"
Weight: 252 g | 0.56 lb
Mighty+ Dimensions and Weight:
Width: 8.0 cm | 3.2"
Height: 14.0 cm | 5.5"
Depth: 3.0 cm | 1.2"
Weight: 242 g | 0.5 lb
While the battery life is better, you have to go into the Storz and Bickel app to adjust the battery settings first which is a pain in the ass for someone like me who has all Apple products as the app isn’t available. (I downloaded the Google Chrome web browser and used the web-based app to make my adjustments.) Call me crazy but shouldn’t battery optimization be the default setting?
At first, I was using my dosing caps but full disclosure I’ve been a little all over the place these past couple of weeks, so I’ve just been free-loading the chamber. To my surprise, it’s remained fairly clean. The Venty doesn’t come with a built-in tool like the Mighty+ but there is one included in the box.
The biggest hype around the Venty is the airflow of 20 litres/minute when you have the adjustable dial wide open. The dial has three settings, one feels similar to the airflow of the Mighty+, two still has some resistance, and the third setting feels almost like taking a bong rip… Just wide open and free flowing! It's a little mind-blowing how, despite the crazy amount of air rushing through the device, the vapour remains cool and flavourful. After some trial and error, I found my sweet spot – the second setting.
The BIG question… Is the Venty worth the price tag?
I’ve got to be honest with you, the only reason I bought the Venty was because my Mighty+ had been giving me error codes and shutting itself off. (As you’re reading this I’m packing it up to send back to Storz and Bickel for maintenance as it’s still under warranty.) So I preface what I’m about to say with the fact I believe there’s nothing wrong with the Mighty+.
The Mighty+ has been on sale recently for as much as 20% off. That translates into an almost $300 difference between the two vaporizers.
There are a lot of things I like about the Venty: the faster heat-up time, feeling more comfortable in my hand, the tighter fitting cooling unit, the customizable features like boost temps and brightness, and obviously the increased airflow.
However, I’m not convinced it’s worth the steep price tag.
When I penned my thoughts on the Mighty+, it had been in use for about five months and I felt very confident in my review. According to the web-based app at the time of publication, I’ve used the Venty for 26.4 hours in 13 days. Therefore this review is based on my first impressions and will be updated in a few months once I’ve put the Venty through some solid use.

Everything about this unit sounds excellent, except for that price tag. Hopefully that price comes down in the near future.
Personally it spins me out how far Storz & Bickel have come over the years, can still remember meeting Markus & Jurgen by them asking judges at the 2004 Cannabis Cup to test out their Volcano Classic and tell them what they think of it. At the time, it was an amazing device, well ahead of its time. The 3 Volcano's they brought were going constantly for the 3 days of the Cup.
