Maali’s Sky is the cultivar Royal Moby, a 20% THC Sativa categorized flower made by crossing Haze and White Widow. Sky is grown in Australia, under a natural light source and is harvested and trimmed by hand. High in Terpinolene, Myrcene, Caryophyllene, Ocimene, Limonene, and Humulene Sky is a cultivar that’s been on the Australian medicinal cannabis market for years. This review is based on batch 90088.
I originally covered Haze when I did my review of Promethean BioPharma’s Super Silver Haze. It’s a cultivar of unknown origins but according to the Royal Queen Seeds website, “It is believed that the first Hazes have been created by two growers in Santa Cruz, California, the legendary “Haze Brothers”. The alternative medicinal journal “Treating Yourself Magazine” has an article in their #14 issue where they say that Sam “The Skunkman” (the legendary breeder of the Skunk #1) knew the two brothers, “R. Haze” and “J. Haze”. The article continues to say that the two didn’t really set out to breed a particular strain, but that it happened by pure chance when they hybridized some seeds which they had available at that time.”
Haze is recommended for the treatment of depression, stress, and bipolar disorder, but also for digestive issues, lack of appetite, and inflammation. Her dominant terpenes are Myrcene, Pinene, and Caryophyllene.
I previously covered White Widow back in my Tasmanian Botanics’s Opal review. (If you haven’t read the full review, I encourage you to do so because White Widow has got a great backstory!) But for a quick refresher, it’s typically high in Terpinolene, Myrcene, Caryophyllene and Pinene and is recommended for patients trying to manage symptoms associated with stress, anxiety, and pain.
Review
The familiar scent of Terpinolene is the first thing I noticed when I opened my 10-gram tub of Maali’s Sky followed by a minty, citrusy aroma.
Sky’s buds are uniform in shape and colour, light green with a few darker green leaves spread throughout. Evenly coated in trichomes and orange stigmas they possessed a dense and spongy texture, expanding beautifully when ground.
Sky easily passed the Sticky Icky Test initially but encountered some dryness towards the end of the tub, possibly attributable to the absence of a humidity pack.
Starting at 175C Sky is smooth with a floral taste that’s a tad earthy and menthol on exhale. Her effects, a boost in mood and energy levels came on rather quickly, which culminated in a cruisey feeling that was enough to carry me through most of my morning’s to-do list before needing another medicating session.
Will I refill this prescription? No, I wanted Sky to be a morning cultivar that I could rotate against Promethean BioPharma’s Super Silver Haze. When she was first brought into rotation that seemed to be where she was going. However, as I write the last part of this review her flowers have become dry and brittle similar to Phytoca’s Zurple Punch, another flower that did not have a humidity pack inside its tub.
Humidity packs have gradually become the industry norm, making it puzzling why some companies choose not to incorporate them. To me, it appears an unusual area to cut corners, considering their widespread adoption for maintaining optimal product quality.
At $140 Maali’s Sky started off ticking most of my boxes such as genetics, terpenes and effects, but as time went on she lost her sparkle quicker than I would’ve liked.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 out of 5 stars)
***My reviews adhere to a "where is, as is" principle. If a container lacks a humidity pack, I refrain from adding one during the review process.***

I love a good morning Cultivar. I’m always interested in a product that could serve in that role. I want to try some Maali products. My favourite day flower atm is Cannatrek Golden Bay which is Ultra Sour. For me it just hits the spot.
Shame it became dry and brittle, it did sound like what your after as you were describing the effects. Knowing its homegrown, thought it would be a touch cheaper too.
