Love this review! Love the info on the origin. I may or may not have tried White Widow before(I really have no idea lol) but now I most definitely need to....where can I purchase & try?
Fantastic review. Awesome origin story of strain White Widow & it's connection to Green House seeds company + Shantibabba. He was an inspiration to me in my late teens being Australian & winning Cannabis Cups in Amsterdam.
Thanks for the feedback! It’s always tough to write about something that has a bit of a questionable past as there’s lots of speculation around how White Widow was created.
I chose to tell Shantibaba’s version of events because this is “Aus”Canna Reviews and he’s an Aussie.
Is that the most accurate version? There’s a part of me that would like to believe so, because it makes for a hell of a story believing one man travelled the world riding a motorbike on a mission collecting and breeding the best of the best cannabis to share with the rest of us.
Great review, I like the back story. I remember White Widow back in The days of the original Skunk.
That for me was back in the nineties when I was still at Uni. We still grew outdoors back then but hydroponics were on the up and these were new indoor grown strains. It was back then that I first saw Jack Herer and strains of Hindu Kush getting around and strains were becoming more distinctive. Northern Lights is another I remember from back then. I feel out of touch now and Im on a learning curve. These articles are really helpful and informative I can’t wait to see the next flower review. Thanks 🙏
Thanks for the feedback Steve! I have to agree with you there’s been a lot of changes over the last few decades. Like you I come from outdoor small batch grown cannabis and I miss the closeness I use to have with the plant. While I’m excited to see where the industry goes as a whole I hold out hope the mass corporate grows don’t gobble up all the legacy growers from our youth.
Marvelous review. Have only had the pleasure of trying TB's Amethyst and Jade recently and have been quite impressed, would really like to try this to see if it compares to Greenhouse's strain from the 90's. Back in the day there were so many different White strains available in Amsterdam, White Widow, White Rhino, White Wabbit, Snow White, White Tiger, Great White Shark, White Widow Shiva, White Russian and sure there were more.

I’m not sure where you’d get the flower in Nova Scotia but this is a link for some live rosin...
